Receiver Showing 775, 771, Searching for Satellite

First, you will need to make sure your receiver settings are correct. To get into the hidden menu follow the instructions below.

● Reset receiver using red button on the side next to the access card slot

● Wait until a loading percentage bar appears on step 2 of 2. Once it does, hold down the red button on the DIRECTV remote (by the bottom arrow key) until the hidden menu comes up.

● Select Satellite from the menu on the left

● Select repeat satellite setup.

● Select “Yes, Interrupt” and

● Enter the “Dash” key when prompted.

● A screen with a few drop down menus will be displayed.

● In the tuner drop down menu it should be set to Auto.

● If the channel is on “Unassigned” change it to “Auto”(unless your property has swm channel assignments see bottom of page under “Assigning SWM Channels” for more info).

● Press “Recheck SWM” on the right side of the screen. Press continue to finish.

● Your programming should come up after continuing.

If you are unable to press continue because it is grayed out press “recheck SWM” again

If the above steps do not fix the issue, follow the steps below.

● Take a jumper cable (coax) from a TV that is working and connect it to the receiver that is not working.

● After tightly connecting the cable to the wall plate and the receiver, press the red reset button on the receiver.

● If the programming comes back up, the issue is the jumper cable and it will need to be replaced.

If the above steps do not fix the issue, follow the steps below.

● Temporarily take a working receiver from a TV that is working and plug it into the TV that is having issues

● Allow the receiver to go through the boot up/reset process

● If the programming comes back up, the issue is with the receiver.

If the above steps do not fix the issue, follow the steps below.

● Replace the barrel in the wall plate, or the wall plate as a whole.

Assigning SWM Channels 

● For receivers that need to be assigned swm channels, you will need to select the correct tuner.

● If you were provided a list of rooms with the SWM channel assignment for that room, you will want to select the channel based on the room you are in. If not, follow the instructions below.

● Change the tuner to any number between 1 and 13 and select “ReCheck SWiM”.

● Repeat this step until an open tuner is found.

*When an open tuner is selected a message will show at the bottom of the screen saying “Don’t install B Band Converters”. When an occupied tuner is selected a message will say “SWiM Channel Assignment Error”

● Press “Recheck SWM” on the right side of the screen. Press continue to finish.

● Your programming should come up after continuing.
