The Network Engineer is responsible for working with our internal team and our hospitality customers in the field to ensure the success of our WiFi and networking projects. This role will ensure the best Engineering designs for both new installations and troubleshooting issues with existing installations to ensure the best experience for both new and existing customers. This role will work on both pre and post-installation activities
Members of the Engineering Team are the technical experts on each and every project we work on! And the Network Systems Engineer is that technical expert who will work directly with the customers before, during and after the installation of their system.
Some of the duties you'll perform
Designing, installing and configuring IP systems including Unifi and Ruckus WiFi, hardwired IP, and IP Camera and IP voice communication systems for hospitality customers. This includes routing, switching, configuring VLANS, WiFi, PtMP and PtP IP data transmission.
Designing, installing and configuring DIRECTV TCP/IP networks in managed DRE systems including VPN routers and MDF/IDF switches and DECA adapters.
Designing, installing and configuring DIRECTV Management Control System servers and Video Caching Servers in a hospitality environment
Performing Pre-installation Site Surveys to ensure that Engineering has the correct information about the project to ensure the most accurate design possible.
Performing Post-installation follow-up audits to ensure compliance with Groove standards.
Troubleshooting problems in the field to make sure our systems are always up and running.
Configuring and maintaining monitoring and configuration hardware and software including:
Ubiquiti Unifi and Ruckus Controllers and Unifi and other WiFi systems
Ubiquiti UNMS Dashboard and AirMax distribution systems
Ubiquiti Protect and other IP Camera Systems
CMTS IP distribution systems to Cable Modems over COAX
Mitel and other IP Telephony (VOIP and Cloud PBX) systems
DIRECTV Monitoring Portal with Cisco Meraki monitoring systems
DIRECTV Managed DRE systems and MCS Dashboards
Training the Groove internal and external teams and hospitality customers and end users on how to use and troubleshoot the systems to ensure a great customer experience.
The requirements of this role include:

Education and proven background in IP networking and WiFi distribution systems
Hospitality experience with Unifi, Ruckus, Mitel, CMTS systems, and DIRECTV preferred
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Be available for travel across the U.S. via both flying and driving, depending on project location
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the office in Holladay, UT
